Current favorite face moisturizers

May 05, 2019 Paris, France

From thick and rich to very lightweight textures, with a matte or glowy finish, here's a selection of my favorite face moisturizers !

I personally have a dry to combination skin but theses products should fit you no matter you skin type because they're pretty basic : they focus on hydratation only (except for the cold cream which might be too heavy for greasy skins).

☞  Weleda Cold cream

The thick and rich one

Anyone familiar with cold creams knows that it's supposed to be heavy on the moisturizing side : formulated with water, almond oil and beeswax, it helps nourishing and protecting the skin from agressions by creating a barrier. It has a very glowy/dewy finish.
This one from Weleda is my favorite ; it's cheap here in France and it doesn't contain any nasties (I'm personally at war with silicones).
I love using it during the cold months on my cheeks which tend to be very dry, but also during long flights when traveling ! It protects my skin from the air conditioning and helps retain moisture.

If you have greasy skin, this is the only product which might not suit you because it could be too heavy.

Ingredients : water, prunus amygdalus dulcis oil, arachis hypogaea oil, cera flava, alcohol, glyceryl linoleate, fragrance, sorbitan olivate, zinc sulfate, limonene, linalool, citronellol, geraniol, citral

☞  The Ordinary Natural moisturizing factors + HA

The perfect dose of hydratation with a semi-matte finish

Cheap AF and very effective, what I love the most about this moisturizer is that it has a semi-matte finish. A little goes a long way : I bought the 100ml-kind a year ago and still haven't finished it !
I mix it with my foundation of choice when I want to make it more translucent and look more natural. It's also a great make up base.
For my American friends, this is probably the most budget friendly since it's not a French product and costs less than 10$.
It doesn't contain alcohol, silicones, oil + it's vegan and cruelty free.

☞  Avène Soothing moisture mask

The lightweight texture perfect for sensitive skin

I know that this is a face mask but it felt so good that I started using it as a daily moisturizer, and trust me : it works wonder. It has a very lightweight texture, the lightest of all three.
This moisturizer gives you an instant feeling of comfort, soothing the most sensitive skins without being too heavy.
It sinks in the skin, leaving it perfectly moisturized without leaving greasy residues, making it a great makeup base !
